IBM Unleashes New Tools To Accelerate Data-Driven Cities
This is something I always like to hear/read. Having independent departments in a city is a good thing, but not sharing techniques and data is a bad thing. This is especially true in large cities since a police captain cannot just walk down the hall and talk to another about how something worked out.
Hurricane Sandy Impacts Did Not Contribute to Subsequent Storm Flooding
This is not really good news as such. It is still terrible and tragic. However, by studying the effects of the hurricane and effects that were not related to the hurricane hopefully people will be able to better develop response protocols. Studying the effects might allow us even mitigate the damage ahead of the storm.
Ethiopia's blue volcano burns deadly sulphuric gas

Check it out.
I also finally read up on programming the control board and learning how to sync up the transmitter to the receiver and receiver to control board. This weekend I plan on finishing that all up. So hopefully I will have a quick test flight by the end of tomorrow.
My wife thinks I should do an 80s style montage of the last bits where I plug the control board in and test all everything. It is just goofy enough that I think I will.
