Poll Reveals Range of European Attitudes on Willingness to Use GNSS-Guided Automated Vehicles
Interesting results here. I need to find a similar poll for the U.S. It would be interesting to compare the results. It is not really surprising to see that age divisions exist. I wonder what the actual results were for education divisions. It was also interesting to see the number of people who would be willing to use automated cars.
Map Monday: How open data is revolutionizing online maps
I am almost always in favor of open data. There are plenty of government organizations that are sitting on data. It is not that they do not want it available to the public, but it was hard to administer that. Things are changing and there are more participants then ever. The best part of it of course is that everybody benefits. You can have fun and interesting applications made for the general public by members of the local community. As a user it ties you into the local community and gets information back out to the public. The data really should be available. You pay for it and it is often not refined due to budget cuts. The government benefits from having the community 'massage' the data for free.
