Ok, this is just a little too awesome. There is a three fold increase in temporal resolution in this remote sensing series. I want you all to think about the implications of this. First off, let us pretend we could not see clouds...with our eyes. Remote sensing on this level would allow us to understand cloud cover without the need for our current understanding of sunshine. We could the method shown to determine sunrise and sunset, cloud cover, vegetation health all without even understanding how the sun works.
Once again I am late! No excuses this time, I am just a bad person. Luckily we do understand how our planet interacts with our Sun and we are able to spend our free time thinking up real uses for this method. As with most remote sensing techniques, the uses for this are wide spread. We can use it for climate change, agriculture, forest health, and a number of other global environmental needs. Basically we can use this technique for any question where photosynthesis is the answer, but in real time. As with any method of remote sensing the real application of this technique is in the hands of the general public. Yes it is great to see environmental conservation companies take this information and profile environmental concerns, but when the general public can take this data and do some big data analysis we will have some real information. Information that can change how we see our impact on the
