Sanborn Advances Indoor Mapping
Well now, this is just about the most exciting thing that I have heard in a while. Indoor mapping, as I have mentioned many many far to many times, is incredibly difficult. Obviously you have blockages of outside signals from the building itself. You are also confined within the building so space might be at a premium for specific equipment or personnel.
Now having a small and self navigating system that provides near real time data can be a big help. It would be helpful for cave exploration, disaster relief, historical preservation, and other applications. Easy to use and 1cm precision would benefit just about any industry. I just wish I could see one of them in action.
How Do States Tax Their Citizens?
Cool web map alert. Great design and color choices. Simple enough data that it is easy to relate to. Nice one shot pop-ups. It also gives you a look at the 'greener' grasses. Kind of shows how things aren't always what they seem. I have known a lot of people that like to boast about living in a state with no income tax, but they never note that their sales tax might be one of the worst in the country.
